Field Trip.

Today was our first and only field trip of the year. I would say it was a typical JCS field trip haha There were about 50 people on this bus... the two largest classes at JCS (2nd grade with 19 kids and 3rd grade with 23 kids), plus about 15 adults. No seat belts, 3 kids to two seats, and blasting inappropriate reggaeton through the speakers.

We went to some ruins in La Vega and then got back on the bus to go to Santiago, where we arrived at a museum.  I honestly had no idea where we were going and what we were doing the whole time. BUT, that's just what being "flexible" as a teacher is all about, which is practiced often as a teacher in this country. The only thing that was for certain was where we were going for lunch. MCDONALDS - America's finest restaurant. Let me tell you - after being with your 23 students all day in a cramped bus yelling at kids to sit on their "okoles" ("butt" in Hawaiian, and, yes, my students are very familiar with this word), Mcdonalds is probably the best place ever invented. Definitely the highlight, for me at least!

WORTH IT.

This trip was incredibly exhausting, but I'm pretty sure the kids had a great time. Can't wait till next year!
